Rail & Trail Train Rides and Guided Walks
Your trip begins with a 12-mile heritage steam journey through the Rheidol Valley between Aberystwyth and Devil’s Bridge, departing Aberystwyth station at 10:30. On arrival at Devil’s Bridge you’ll then explore the surrounding hills and landscape on foot with a qualified local guide before catching the return train at 15:45.
You will need suitable walking footwear and clothing for the weather, plus water and any refreshments you require.
Walks will take approximately 3 hours.
Walks this year:
- 20th June 2026 Devils Bridge rural circular. A peaceful short walk but with some steeper parts all mostly all on rural grassy paths but offering stunning mountain views over Devils Bridge. 3.5 miles, moderate.
- 19th July 2026 Trisant country loop. A tranquil country lane walk which heads around a beautiful mountain lake in the village of Trisant near Devils Bridge. Majority or route is quiet lane walking. 4.5 miles, moderate.
- 15th August 2026 Devils Bridge & Arch Vista walk. A longer walk with magnificent views in multiple directions mostly along grassy paths taking in views of Devils Bridge and also visiting the historic Trisant Church and Arch landmark. 6.5 miles, moderate.
- 19th September 2026 The Arch linear. A stunning route nearly all off road along grassy paths and tracks heading gradually to landmark “The Arch” offering excellent views over Devils Bridge and to the Cambrian Mountains to the East. 4.5 miles, moderate.
- 17th October 2026 Devils Bridge rural circular. A peaceful short walk but with some steeper parts all mostly all on rural grassy paths but offering stunning mountain views over Devils Bridge. 3.5 miles, moderate.

Stretching an incredible 72 feet in length, this highly detailed recreation of Watford Junction is a must-see for both railway enthusiasts and families. Every platform, signal and locomotive has been crafted with remarkable precision, bringing the bustling station scene vividly to life.
The Making Tracks model railway has taken on a beach themed twist this year , with tiny deckchairs, breach brollies and even sandcastles hidden across the 72ft layout!
