VoR apprentice completes his studies

The Vale of Rheidol Railway are pleased to announce that their latest apprentice has completed his studies.
Kian Holdsworth (19) has completed his level 3 NVQ in mechanical engineering at Dolgellau College. He has studied there whilst working at the Vale of Rheidol Railway.
He has worked as an apprentice at the Vale of Rheidol Railway for the last two years, learning skills such as lathe work, screw-cutting, milling and fabrication.
Kian had no prior knowledge of railways before beginning his apprenticeship, and is from an automotive background. He has enjoyed learning about steam locomotives and railway operation, and now also works as a locomotive fireman and guard during the season.
The railway congratulate Kian on his achievement.
