London Bridge plaque unveiled

The Vale of Rheidol Railway (VoR) recently unveiled a blue plaque in the entrance to their new museum.
The plaque explains about the impressive London Bridge station offices portico, which once formed the entrance to the South Eastern Railway offices at 64-84 Tooley Street in London. The portico now forms a grand entrance to the Vale of Rheidol Railway’s new museum, display and flexible events space at Aberystwyth station.
The unveiling ceremony was performed by Tim Hedley-Jones, Executive Director of the Railway Heritage Trust. He explained a little about the project to bring the stonework from London to Aberystwyth, and then invited local school children to watch as he unveiled the blue plaque.
The museum is open daily until November: visitors can see it for themselves for £5 adults/£3 children, or for free if they are travelling on the train.
