February Half Term Trains
The Vale of Rheidol Railway has been running for over 120 years. Hop aboard one of our historic trains for a journey through the stunning Welsh countryside.
Trains will travel a short journey between Aberystwyth and Capel Bangor stations only as winter maintenance is taking place on the tracks preventing our trains from reaching Devil’s Bridge.
What’s included
- Train journey – 9 mile round trip
Itinerary
- Outward journey from Aberystwyth to Capel Bangor (20 minutes)
- A short wait in Capel Bangor whilst the locomotive runs round the train ready for the journey back (10 mins)
- Return journey from Capel Bangor to Aberystwyth (20 mins)
Highlights
- See the red kites. Once threatened with extinction, these birds of prey are often seen from the train
- Visit the Engine Shed display at Aberystwyth station and see locomotives from our collection and the incredible Fire Queen
- Talk to our friendly and knowledgeable loco crews, guards and station staff
