‘Croeso’ Day

Join Us for Our 2026 Croeso Day at the Vale of Rheidol Railway (Trade only)

We’re delighted to announce our Vale of Rheidol Railway Croeso Day, taking place on Tuesday 14th April 2026 — a special open day created especially for local accommodation providers and attraction owners.

Each year, the Vale of Rheidol Railway welcomes over 40,000 visitors, many of whom are looking for memorable places to stay, great attractions to visit, and unique experiences to enjoy while they’re in the area. Our Croeso Day is all about working more closely together — building stronger relationships with local businesses and helping each other showcase the very best of Mid Wales.

What’s the idea behind Croeso Day?

Quite simply: better connections mean better visitor experiences.

Word-of-mouth recommendations are one of the most powerful ways visitors discover new places. By inviting you to experience the railway first-hand, we hope to:

  • Show you what makes the Vale of Rheidol Railway special

  • Share ideas on how we can support each other’s businesses

  • Explore simple, practical ways we can work together to inspire visitors

  • Help you confidently recommend the railway to your guests and customers

What to expect on the day

We’ve put together a relaxed and enjoyable morning that gives you a real flavour of what we do:

  • From 10:30: Arrival at Aberystwyth station (Sy231PG) and opportunity to look around the site, browse our gift shop and grab a coffee from the café

  • 10:3011:45: Join us for complimentary refreshments in the Engine Shed Museum, where our team will hold a short presentation

  • 11:45-12:00: Board the train for a scenic journey into the Rheidol Valley.

  • 12:00: Train departs from Aberystwyth
  • 13:00: Arrive at Devil’s Bridge Station, with time to stretch your legs and use the facilities

  • 13:25: Train departs from Devil’s Bridge

  • 14:25: Arrive back at Aberystwyth station

It’s a great chance to see the railway from a visitor’s point of view, ask questions, and chat informally about how we can support one another.

More than just a visit

On the day, we’ll also be happy to talk about:

  • Our upcoming events for the season

  • Our Local Discount Card for residents

  • How can help promote local businesses through its leaflet distribution service across Mid and West Wales
