Autumn Adventures on the Vale of Rheidol Railway

As the long summer days give way to crisp mornings and golden evenings, autumn is one of the most magical times to enjoy a steam train journey through the Rheidol Valley. The trees take on stunning shades of orange, yellow, and gold, and the softer light makes the valley scenery even more spectacular.

This autumn, we’re making it easier than ever to enjoy a trip – with some special discounts for our passengers:

Half Price Travel for Ceredigion Residents

Throughout September, anyone living in Ceredigion can travel for half price on the Vale of Rheidol Railway.

  • Simply show proof of residency when buying your tickets at the station.

  • Or, if you’d prefer to book online, just enter the code CEREDIGION at checkout.

It’s our way of saying “thank you” to our local community for your support.

Book Early and Save – New Trial Offer

We’re also trialling a new ticket structure this autumn to reward passengers who plan ahead:

  • Adult Day Rover tickets now start from £30* when booked online in advance (up to 48 hours before travel, subject to availability). *subject to booking fee

  • The earlier you book – and the lower the train’s capacity – the better the price.

  • Tickets purchased at the station on the day will remain at the standard price of £35.

So right now, it really does pay to book online!

The Perfect Time to Travel

Autumn is arguably one of the most beautiful seasons to ride the railway. The valley is transformed by a golden glow, wildlife is active as winter approaches, and the crisp air makes a ride in one of our open-sided coaches extra refreshing. Whether you’re a photographer, a nature lover, or simply looking for a memorable day out, September and October offer something truly special.

Book your autumn trip today and experience the Vale of Rheidol Railway at its most spectacular.
