The Vale of Rheidol Railway has been running for over 120 years. Hop aboard a historic steam train for a journey through the stunning Welsh countryside on one of the most spectacular railway journeys in the UK.

Departing from Aberystwyth, this scenic route takes you on a picturesque ride climbing from the coast at Aberystwyth to through the spectacular Rheidol Valley to Devil’s Bridge, nestled in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains.

Known for its three-tiered bridges and dramatic landscapes, Devil’s Bridge is a must-see destination.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveller, this ride promises to be a memorable experience.

Itinerary

  • Outward journey from Aberystwyth to Devil’s Bridge (1 hour)
  • Approx. 1 hour wait in Devil’s Bridge
  • Return journey from Devil’s Bridge to Aberystwyth (1 hour)
  • Visit the Engine Shed museum in Aberystwyth. The Museum opens at 9:00am
  • Last museum admission is 4:15pm on orange timetable dates.
  • Last museum admission is 5:30pm on yellow timetable dates
